Judith Leiber Couture has teamed up with Katy Perry to create a magical new handbag. The American luxury brand is known for their uniquely shaped bags and breathtaking crystals. Similarly, Katy Perry’s whimsical, eccentric sense of style is truly on brand for the perfect collaboration.
The duo designed an evening bag to celebrate the icon on her last Vegas residency, “Play”. The singer and songwriter has headlined eight concerts at The Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas. During her performance the artist was surrounded by dancing mushrooms in one act. So it was only fitting for Judith Leiber to create a limited-edition mushroom minaudière with the pop singer.
The wearable piece of art was created with more than 10,000 handset crystals in shades of bright red blended with scarlet and Bordeaux. The stem is colored with gradient shades of gold, silver, and white. While the top of the mushrooms features half pearls in a range of sizes, adding to the dimension of the bag. Pulling the piece together, the interior is lined with metallic leather, making for the ultimate statement bag.
The design was overseen by Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger, who co-owns the brand, along with Authentic Brands Group and Jana Matheson, Judith Leiber’s chief creative officer.
The Judith Leiber Couture x Katy Perry minaudière will retail for $6,195 and is available on the brand’s website and in its store at Resorts World Las Vegas. It will also be offered at select luxury specialty stores beginning Fall 2022. We will also accept the coveted evening bag on consignment at DoubleTake.
