Yves Saint Laurent
Yves Saint Laurent founded his namesake brand in 1961. His brand shook the fashion industry as his designs had a sense of gender fluidity, drawing inspiration from menswears for women. He first designed for Christian Dior and took over as creative director in 1957. Yves Saint Lauren joined Lanvin and remained there until 2015. His brand was later purchased by the Gucci Group, where Tom Ford would design. In recent years Hedi Slimane has rebranded what we now know as Saint Laurent. The brand is best known for breaking gender norms and celebrating fluidity in fashion.
